Field Service Engineer

About Us:

We are a small, family-run business experiencing rapid growth, and we’re looking for a skilled engineer to join our busy team. We specialise in servicing woodworking and metalworking machines across the South of England, providing our customers with breakdown support, routine maintenance, and Health & Safety inspections. Our expertise covers a wide range of machinery, including sliding table panel saws, bandsaws, cold saws, guillotines, and pillar drills.

We are a small family run company servicing the South of England helping customers with breakdowns, routine maintenance & H & S inspections to woodworking and metal working machines. Sliding table panel saws, bandsaws, cold saws, guillotines, pillar drills etc.

Requirements:
  • A good understanding of 3 phase motors and their different braking systems.
  • A good understanding of machinery control circuits.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build professional relationships with customers
  • Be able to work independently
  • Good report writing skills
  • Be prepared to have occasional overnight stays & potential early starts to avoid traffic
  • Full, clean UK driving license
  • Be able to read engineering diagrams
  • Must be physically dextrous
  • Computer literate, able to use Word, excel, email & the ability to work from home
  • Good organisational skills
  • Source new parts which may either involve liaising with suppliers or online searches
Desirable:
  • NVQ 3 in an engineering practice
  • Be able to read circuit diagrams
  • Multi skilled electrical & mechanical
  • Forklift license

You will start work from home and will be provided with a vehicle & tools. We have a small workshop if required for offsite repairs. One day a week is set aside for working from home to source parts & prepare quotes etc for the office to contact the customer.

Your diary is managed for you online by the office.

You will be provided with an app to install on your phone to make business calls & given an email address to work from. PPE will be provided for. As part of your training you will need to spend 3 nights away to complete the PUWER course.

DBS checks will be carried out as we work in various educational settings.
